FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round - Tadley Calleva 2 (Charlie Barlow 76', Brad Passfield 88') Dartford 1 (George Whitefield 4'.)

Dartford crashed out of the FA Cup, after a spirited Tadley Calleva side came from behind to progress into the Fourth Qualifying Round in front of 898 supporters on an overcast afternoon.

The Darts started well and were ahead within four minutes after Ben Greenhalgh’s cross was met by George Whitefield, who headed in his first goal of the season. In-form Max Fiddes saw his effort saved by goalkeeper Donnacha Burke, before Dan Smith scored only to see it chalked off for offside (9). The hosts responded with a free-kick, which saw skipper Jordan Goater fire narrowly wide of Ryan Sandford’s far post (11). There was a second opportunity for the Romans in similar circumstances shortly afterwards. And this time Goater forced Sandford into a save, of which he couldn’t hold on to… the ball was tapped home, but like Dan Smith’s earlier effort, it was disallowed for offside (17). Four minutes later saw everyone inside the ATS Group Stadium wonder how Dartford weren’t two goals to the good… first Greenhalgh forced a save out of Burke, before Smith’s rebound smacked the post. Then Max Fiddes’ reaction strike was somehow saved by Burke (21)! Ben Greenhalgh then found Dan Smith inside the box with a lovely chipped ball, but the Dartford number nine’s header hit Burke’s crossbar (39).

If the first-half had seen the visitors looking relatively solid and good value for their lead, the second forty-five would prove to be an entirely different ball game as the Romans’ determination was eventually rewarded. Max Fiddes did have an opportunity to get on the scoresheet after good work by Lorenzo Duncan, but his header failed to trouble Donnacha Burke (51). Ryan Sandford made a routine save from Tyler Field at the other end within a minute, before the shot-stopper denied the hosts an equaliser merely seconds later. The visitors made their first substitutions after 63 minutes, when Tyler Ibe and Scott Wagstaff came on for Lorenzo Duncan and Jordan Higgs respectively. Louie Atkins then replaced Max Fiddes (77), before Brandon Davey made way for Richie Atkins late on (86). As we return to the action, the referee awarded Tadley Calleva a penalty kick after Adrian Gyamera had clipped Josh Ewing inside the box. However, Kieran Rodgers’ spot-kick was excellently saved by Sandford (64). The hosts didn’t give up though, as they dominated the second-half. And when substitute Lors Nicholas’ brilliant run and cross from the Romans’ left-flank set up fellow substitute Charlie Barlow, the equaliser duly arrived (76). Dartford responded via Tyler Ibe, who saw his strike deflected and cleared (80), before Brad Neal hit the crossbar at the other end (84)!

The momentum was clearly with the Combined Counties Premier South outfit by this point and, when a free-kick was sent into the Dartford box, Brad Passfield was on hand to score and turn the game on its head with two minutes remaining. Dartford responded via Greenhalgh, who saw his effort saved by Burke (90), before George Whitefield saw a golden opportunity to seal a replay also saved by the Tadley goalkeeper deep into stoppage time as the visitors’ unbeaten run came to an end.

TADLEY CALLEVA: Donnacha Burke, Nathan Smart, Jordan Goater (c), Brad Neal, Brad Passfield, Kieran Rodgers, Connor Thorne, Logan Lowes, Alfie Burton, Tyler Field, Josh Ewing.
SUBSTITUTES: Craig Atkinson, Alex Miller, Kyan Stephens, Lamin Sankoh, Lors Nicholas, Charlie Barlow, Ed Scott.

DARTFORD: Ryan Sandford, Sam Odaudu (c), George Whitefield, Dan Smith, Max Fiddes, Ben Greenhalgh, Adrian Gyamera, Brandon Davey, Jordan Higgs, Lorenzo Duncan, Jeremiah Pinder.
SUBSTITUTES: Emmanuel Oke, Scott Wagstaff, Richie Atkins, Louie Atkins, Tyler Ibe, Ike Orji, Bailey Vose.

Att: 898

Dartford 2 (Max Fiddes 21', 51') Whitehawk 1 (Kamarni Ryan 32')

Max Fiddes scored a goal in each half in a Man of The Match performance, as Dartford beat Whitehawk to finish the month of September unbeaten and top of the Isthmian Premier League table!

The struggling Hawks made a good account of themselves throughout this match, as 702 supporters enjoyed an entertaining game of football on a beautiful night under the Princes Park floodlights. But the in-form Darts weren’t going to be denied, as they registered an eighth win in nine fixtures in all competitions.

Ben Greenhalgh’s side started brightly, with Ike Orji seeing his strike blocked following good work by Emmanuel Oke (7). Ryan Sandford then calmly claimed a Finlay Chadwick free-kick at the other end (9).
The in-form Max Fiddes was already making a nuisance of himself and, when he was fouled inside the Whitehawk area in the fifteenth minute, the Dartford faithful were dumbstruck when referee Mr Abudlaziz Olol refused to award a spot-kick! Dan Smith sent a fierce header over Hawk goalkeeper Hugo Fisher’s crossbar after great work by Ike Orji and Scott Wagstaff (19). Then the hosts broke the deadlock two minutes later when Ryan Sandford’s long kick found Smith, who in turn found Brandon Davey, who’s sweet ball across the box was smashed home by Fiddes (21)! Jay Lovett’s men responded swiftly and only a fantastic block by Sam Odaudu prevented the visitors from testing Sandford (26). Three minutes later saw Orji find Fiddes with a neat pass, only for the Dartford number ten see Fisher pull off a good save to prevent him from netting a second goal (29). Despite their struggles though, the visitors were a threat in the final third via the counter-attack. And it was one of those counter-attacks that enabled Kamarni Ryan to breach the Dartford defence to find himself one-on-one with Sandford. It proved to be an opportunity that the in-form Hawk took, as he rounded the goalkeeper to slot home the equaliser (31). The goal lifted the visitors and they finished the half strongly. Lee Seok-Jai smacked Sandford’s upright with a lovely effort (39), before Liam Moore’s low drive flew narrowly wide of the post with two minutes left to play.

It would be the Darts that started the second forty-five on the front-foot once again though, and it wasn’t long before they edged back ahead. And once again, it was Max Fiddes at the double to net his tenth goal of the season, and a third brace in his third consecutive match! The goal itself was created by great combination play between Dan Smith (who’s initial strike was blocked) and Ben Greenhalgh (51). Whitehawk responded well via another Liam Moore low strike, which was deflected behind and eventually cleared (54), before George Whitefield came agonisingly close to scoring a third for Dartford as he reached a Greenhalgh free-kick first (58). Ten minutes later saw the hosts make their first substitution of the evening, when Jeremiah Pinder came on for Tyler Ibe (68). A double change then took place in the 82nd minute, when Scott Wagstaff and Ike Orji were replaced by Lorenzo Duncan and Adrian Gyamera respectively. Lastly, Richie Atkins came on for Max Fiddes deep into stoppage time (90+2). As we return to the action, we find two sides battling it out for the remainder of the match as the Darts kept the Hawks at bay. That was until substitute Beaux Booth forced Ryan Sandford into a brilliant save to secure the victory (81).

The win is Dartford’s fourth consecutive win in the Isthmian Premier League, a run that sees them climb to the top of the table in an unbeaten month in all competitions.

DARTFORD: Ryan Sandford, Emmanuel Oke, Sam Odaudu (c), George Whitefield, Scott Wagstaff, Dan Smith, Max Fiddes, Ben Greenhalgh, Brandon Davey, Tyler Ibe, Ike Orji.
SUBSTITUTES: Adrian Gyamera, Richie Atkins, Lorenzo Duncan, Louie Atkins, Jeremiah Pinder.

WHITEHAWK: Hugo Fisher, Dan Bowry, Adam Reeves, Yannis Drais, Nikolai Krokhin, Grant Hall (c), Kamarni Ryan, Liam Moore, Lee Seok-Jai, Imran Kayani, Finlay Chadwick.
SUBSTITUTES: Edward Jimenez, Arezki Hamouchene, Victor Aiye, Beaux Booth, Mehmet Halim.

Referee: Abudalaziz Olol
Assts: Daniel Cooper, Patrick O'Reilly
Att: 702
MoTM: Max Fiddes

Enfield Town 0 Dartford 2 (Dan Smith ℗ 21', Tyler Ibe 60') in the Isthmian League.

The 625 supporters at the Dave Bryant Stadium were just getting comfortable when this fixture burst into life straight from the Kick-off, as both sides looked to get on the scoresheet first. Max Fiddes came agonisingly close to breaking the deadlock within three minutes, only to see his strike deflected behind for a corner. The hosts responded five minutes later when Franklin Domi allowed a set-piece to run towards teammate Amrit Bansal-McNulty, but the latter’s effort was saved by Ryan Sandford (8). Dylan Thompson then saved well from Dan Smith (13), Fiddes (15), and Jeremiah Pinder, before Billy Leonard fired over the crossbar within a matter of seconds at the other end! Luke May-Parrott saw his strike tipped onto the crossbar by Sandford, before Emmanuel Oke cleared the danger off the line (16) in what was an explosive start to this encounter. A long-ball then caught The Towners off guard and released Smith, who was brought down inside the hosts’ area. The striker took on the responsibility himself, and calmly fired the visitors ahead with his fifth goal of the season (in all competitions) (21). The goal seemed to stun the hosts, who just couldn’t break down a stubborn and organised Dartford defence led by Sam Odaudu. In fact the goal spurred on the Darts, who looked the better of the two sides for a vast majority of the remaining minutes. Dan Smith came close to scoring a second (35), before a long-range pyledriver from Ben Greenhalgh flew narrowly over the top of Thompson’s crossbar before the half-time break (42).

Ben Greenhalgh’s side began the second forty-five where they left off, with Max Fiddes desperately unlucky to see his 56th minute strike blocked before Dylan Thompson saved Jeremiah Pinder’s follow-up effort! A minute later saw the hosts come close via Sam Youngs, but his scuffed shot failed to trouble Dartford goalkeeper Ryan Sandford (57). To add insult to injury, the Darts doubled their advantage three minutes later with Tyler Ibe opening his account with a fine finish following good work by Adrian Gyamera (60). The visitors were in full control by this point and Jordan Higgs came close to netting a third with his long-range drive (63), Franklin Domi almost set up Sam Youngs with a free-kick at the other end, only for the Dartford defensive wall make the block (78). Two minutes later saw the visitors bring on Brandon Davey to replace Ben Greenhalgh, before Max Fiddes made way for Louie Atkins (84). Richie Atkins came on for Jeremiah Pinder (88), before Lorenzo Duncan came on to replace Tyler Ibe deep into stoppage time (90+6). Leiston FC v Dartford FC in the FA Trophy 3rd Qualifying Round. Dartford win 0:3 (Max Fiddes 32', 69', Ben Greenhalgh 53').

Dartford won their first FA Trophy match since January 2022 with a 3-0 win away at Leiston, a 95 mile trip from Princes Park.

There were some big chances at both ends early on, the first major opportunity coming for Dartford. Dan Smith found space on the edge of the area and his strike flew wide of Callum Robinson’s post. Leiston’s biggest opportunity came from a ball through from the right hand side as captain Sam Dunbar got on the end of it and was denied by an unbelievable reaction save from Ryan Sandford. The first goal of the game came just after the half hour mark, when Lorenzo Duncan slotted through Max Fiddes, and from a tight angle, his strike flew into the corner at the far post to send Dartford into the lead at the break.

The second half saw one instant substitution where Jordan Higgs, who was hurt by a challenge just before half-time, was replaced by Brandon Davey. The second goal came not long after that when Dan Smith was fed the ball through leaving him one on one with the goalkeeper and he unselfishly played it sideways to Ben Greenhalgh who couldn’t miss, to extend Dartford’s lead. The third came from a similar situation where Jez Pinder was played through after a poor clearance from Leiston’s Whyatt Hill. He played Max Fiddes in to smash in a third for Dartford and his eighth of the season.

A big win for Dartford as their positive cup form continues with five clean sheets from the last six matches in all comps too.

Dartford host Whitehawk in the league on Tuesday, as the Isthmian Premier league takes centre stage again.

Teams:
Leiston FC: Callum Robinson, Ben Batho, Wyatt Hill, Seb Dunbard (C), Kyle Callen-McFadden, Noel Aitkens, Joao Soeres Rangel, Frazer Alexander, Harvey Sayer, Adam Mills, Joe Henman. Dartford 2 (Lorenzo Duncan 50', Louie Atkins 81') Ramsgate 0 in the first round of the Kent Senior cup.

A young, exciting Dartford side did manager Ben Greenhalgh proud as Dartford won 2-0 against Ramsgate to book themselves a place in the next round of the Kent Senior Cup where Darts host Bromley FC. It was a total of 10 changes for the side, with George Whitefield the only player from the starting 11 against Hayes & Yeading in the FA Cup on Saturday. Greenhalgh bought in a number of academy players, who showed no fear when given their opportunity.

An entertaining game, with Ramsgate also fielding a young team, started with a host of chances with the best one of note for Louie Atkins, whose near post effort came crashing off the base of the post. Ramsgate nearly scored an audacious effort through Tom Clifford, whose 35-40 yard strike had Carter Sullivan scrambling as the ball bounced off the top of the crossbar. The first goal came at the start of the second half as some neat attacking play down the right hand side culminated in a low ball into the box and found Lorenzo Duncan, who controlled superbly, before turning home. It was his first competitive goal for Dartford since signing from Fisher in the summer. Ramsgate then thought they had an equaliser when Solomon Oguwomoju tapped into an empty net at the back post, only for the linesman to deny him for offside. The second goal came from a brotherly partnership as a free kick from the left hand side crossed in by Richie Atkins, found his brother Louie Atkins who tapped the ball in to extend Dartford’s lead and ultimately send Ramsgate out of the Kent Senior Cup.

Scott Wagstaff and Brandon Davey pulled the strings in midfield, with the back three strong throughout. But it was academy player Maybin Calvert who took the player of the match award with an eye-catching display on the wing. Dartford’s cup run goes on, with a trip to Leiston next up on Saturday in the FA Trophy as they look to continue their positive cup form.

Teams:
Dartford: Carter Sullivan, George Boulton, George Whitefield, Maybin Calvert, Scott Wagstaff, Brandon Davey, Richie Atkins, Lorenzo Duncan, Louie Atkins, Elliot Oviawe, Sonny Smith.
Subs: Sam Odaudu, Kane Stewart, Fred Moore, Harvey Smith, Finley Williams.

Ramsgate: Carter Wilson, Axel Ampedu, Cameron James, Tom Clifford, Raphe Brown, Finley Cotton, Bobby Adams, Yuvraj Mann, Latrell Lewis, Solomon Ogunwomoju, Liam Tullis.
Subs: Oliver Jackson, Harley Twyman, Raymond Zia, Bayleigh Hackworthy, Louie Bird.
Referee: Kieran Cox
Asst: Krystian Kaczala, Katie Allen.
Player of the Match: Maybin Calvert
Match report: Mason Sturgess.

Dartford 4 ((Ben Greenhalgh 12', Max Fiddex 62', 81', Jordan Higgs 79') Hayes & Yeading United 2 (Amari Fashanu 30', Kurtis Cumberbatch 53') in the FA cup 2nd Qualifying Round.

Dartford came from behind to win 4-2 and progress to the Third Round Qualifying of the FA Cup, against a spirited Hayes & Yeading United side at Princes Park.
Dartford were the dominant force in the early period and after some great build-up play between Adrian Gyamera and Max Fiddes, they managed to set up Ben Greenhalgh who lashed one into the bottom right hand corner for his third of the season. It took a while for Hayes & Yeading to get into the match but a quick counter attacking move found Amari Fashanu who was left an easy tap in to draw the visitors level.

The second half started with a glorious chance for Dartford where Max Fiddes’ shot from outside the box struck the post, only for Dan Smith to blaze over the crossbar with the follow up. The next chance came for Hayes & Yeading and it was taken well by midfielder, Kurtis Cumberbatch. His effort from outside of the box flew into the top left corner, to leave Dartford’s FA Cup campaign hanging by a thread. Dartford weren’t behind for long though, and some great determination from Scott Wagstaff on the left hand side, found Max Fiddes with a tap in to get the Darts back level. From here, the team were galvanised and made sure they secured the win.

The goal of the afternoon came from Jordan Higgs, whose first goal for Dartford since signing in the summer was an unbelievable half volley from thirty yards to send the fans ecstatic and give the Darts a deserved lead. The scoring didn’t end there though. After some scrappy Hayes and Yeading defending from a corner, Max Fiddes was there to slot home his second and his sixth of the season.

An excellent win with some great individual performances that sees the team into the draw for the next round. Jez Pinder was named man of the match by sponsors HSO Contracts Limited. Dartford now look towards their Kent Senior Cup game on Tuesday against Ramsgate with the hope of keeping their domestic cup form going.

DARTFORD: Ryan Sandford, Emmanuel Oke, Sam Odaudu (c), George Whitefield, Dan Smith, Max Fiddes, Ben Greenhalgh, Adrian Gyamera, Jordan Higgs, Tyler Ibe, Jeremiah Pinder.
SUBSTITUTES: Brandon Davey, Richie Atkins, Lorenzo Duncan, Louie Atkins, Scott Wagstaff, Ike Orji, Victor Anjorin.

HAYES AND YEADING: Rhys Forster, Louis Rogers, Kyle Daniel-Spray, Joshua Oloyade-Edwards, James Taylor, Kurtis Cumberbatch, Dernell Wynter, Ben Shroll, Amari Fashanu, Harry Grant, Brendan Matthew.
SUBSTITUTES: Joe Gater, Ross Derham, Micah Anthony, Callum Dunham, Joseph Waight, Mohamed Konte, Noah Hay.

Referee: John-Patrick Kane
Assists: Royan Campbell, Lewis Moore + Fourth official.
MoTM: Jeremiah Pinder
Att: 625.
Match Report: Mason Sturgess

Carshalton Athletic 0 Dartford 3 ( Jeremiah Pinder 20', Ben Greenthalgh 41', Dan Smith (P) 63')

Dartford secured a third win in four games (in all competitions), after a brilliant performance saw them dominate a poor Carshalton Athletic side in front of 525 supporters.

The Darts started brightly and tested former goalkeeper Ben Dudzinski within six minutes, when Max Fiddes’ effort was too close to the shot-stopper. Jordan Higgs then saw his effort blocked (7), before Dudzinski managed to save Jeremiah Pinder’s strike (8). The Dartford youngster was in fine form this afternoon, and he broke the deadlock with a delightful effort which curled into the top corner (21). Sam Odaudu’s low drive was routinely collected by Dudzinski (32), before Ben Greenhalgh’s cheeky lob from distance dropped the wrong side of the Robins’ crossbar two minutes later. The player/manager soon doubled his side’s advantage four minutes before the break, when his delightful free-kick following a foul on Max Fiddes left Dudzinski with no chance (41). Only the alertness of Dudzinski prevented Pinder from netting his second of the afternoon, before the follow-up effort from the resulting corner was somehow blocked (45).

The early exchanges of the second forty-five saw substitute Donte Augustus become the first Robin to get a decent cross into the Dartford box, but Ryan Sandford was alert to claim the ball and launch it forward once again (49). Jeremiah Pinder and Max Fiddes combined well to carve open the Carshalton defence, before Ben Dudzinski saved Ben Greenhalgh’s fierce strike. The resulting corner then saw a Dartford player fouled inside the box, and Dan Smith stepped up to fire home a third goal and all but end any hope the host’s might have had (64). Eight minutes later saw the visitors make a triple substitution as Scott Wagstaff, Gianluca Botti, and Louie Atkins all came on to replace Jordan Higgs, Dan Smith, and Max Fiddes respectively. That would be followed by Ben Greenhalgh making way for Richie Atkins (82), before Lorenzo Duncan came on for Tyler Ibe (84). The hosts created their best move of the game in the 81st minute, when substitute Tolu Ladapo danced his way into the danger area before firing agonisingly wide of Sandford’s far post. Then Nathan Young-Coombes saw his free-kick saved by the Dartford goalkeeper, before Ada Okorogheye hit the crossbar with the rebound (88) to keep the visitors’ clean sheet intact. The result sees Dartford join today’s opponents on fifteen points, as both sit in joint-second place in the Isthmian Premier League table.

CARSHALTON ATHLETIC: Ben Dudzinski, Renedi Masampu, Oluwafikayo Atewologun, Robert Howard, Nathan Young-Coombes (c), Prince Kandolo, Jordan Maguire-Drew, Tope Fadahunsi, Joshua Koroma, Matt Yates, Nico Jones.
SUBSTITUTES: Denzel Owoahene-Akyeampong, Gabriel Kamavuako, Tolu Ladapo, Donte Augustus, Ada Okorogheye.

DARTFORD: Ryan Sandford, Emmanuel Oke, Sam Odaudu (c), George Whitefield, Dan Smith, Max Fiddes, Ben Greenhalgh, Adrian Gyamera, Jordan Higgs, Tyler Ibe, Jeremiah Pinder
SUBSTITUTES: Gianluca Botti, Scott Wagstaff, Richie Atkins, Lorenzo Duncan, Louie Atkins.

Referee: Patrick Nixon
Att: 525
Match report: Chris Palmer

Dartford 2 (Max Fiddes 16, Dan Smith 64') Westfield 0. Dartford progressed to the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Cup, after goals from Max Fiddes and Dan Smith saw off Westfield in front of 368 supporters at Princes Park.

This was a solid and organised performance from Ben Greenhalgh’s side, despite the visitors’ battling efforts throughout the ninety minutes. In the end though, it was the hosts’ creativity and ability in front of goal that eventually saw off the outfit from Woking. The hosts made their intentions clear from the beginning, as Greenhalgh exploited the space offered to him on the left-flank. However, his lovely cross into the box couldn’t be reached and ended up flashing narrowly wide of goalkeeper Jake Baxter’s far post (7). James Roberts and Kamaron English looked lively for the visitors during the first-half, and their clever link-up play almost resulted in the former getting through one-on-one with Ryan Sandford before Sam Odaudu’s timely interception thwarted Roberts’ progress (9). Despite their efforts though, Westfield couldn’t breach the Dartford defence. Neither could they cope with their hosts’ attack and, when another Greenhalgh cross caused mayhem in the visitors’ area, Max Fiddes was on hand to fire home his fourth goal of the season (15). Another effort in similar circumstances was somehow put behind by a Westfield defender ten minutes later, before the resulting corner was eventually cleared. The 29th minute saw Westfield create arguably their only real opportunity of the half, which was defended well by the Darts, before a close-range effort at the other end was somehow deflected wide of Baxter’s upright (32)!

The early exchanges of the second forty-five saw Louie Atkins come on to replace Gianluca Botti (53), as Dartford searched for that important second goal in what was a rather quiet restart so far. That substitution would be followed by a double change in the 53rd minute, as Dan Smith and Jordan Higgs came on to replace Max Fiddes and Brandon Davey respectively. Richie Atkins then replaced Scott Wagstaff (75), before young starlet Sonny Smith came on for Jeremiah Pinder late on (83). As we rewind back to when Dan Smith entered the field, the striker pounced within seconds of his entrance to double Dartford’s advantage from close-range to all but ensure his team a place in the next round (64). The visitors tried desperately to get back into the game, but an organised and resilient defensive unit prevented any kind of attacking threat to Ryan Sandford’s goal. In fact, their only effort came via James Roberts, who’s strike in the 80th minute was excellently blocked and cleared.

As the Darts secured their passage into the second round and a home tie against Hayes & Yeading UTD FC, Tyler Ibe’s performance earned him a first Man of The Match award for the Darts as he helped to secure another clean sheet for goalkeeper Ryan Sandford.

DARTFORD: Ryan Sandford, Emmanuel Oke, Sam Odaudu (c), George Whitefield, Gianluca Botti, Scott Wagstaff, Max Fiddes, Ben Greenhalgh, Brandon Davey, Tyler Ibe, Jeremiah Pinder.
SUBSTITUTES: Dan Smith, Adrian Gyamera, Richie Atkins, Jordan Higgs, Louie Atkins, Sonny Smith, Victor Anjorin.

WESTFIELD: Jake Baxter, George Hedley, Caleb Wright (c), Andy Crossley, James Roberts, Kiye Martin, Kamaron English, Alex Cruikshank, Manolis Gogonas, Harry Bowden, Ibrahim Busari.
SUBSTITUTES: Tom Smith, Max Meaton, David Diaz, Jack Knight, Sekou Toure, Aderi Dede.

Referee: Steven Goldup
Assists: Nazaru Bilanovszku, Liam Lawson
Att: 350
MoTM: Tyler Ibe
Report: Chris Palmer

Westfield 1 Dartford 1 in the First Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup.

Max Fiddes scored his third goal of the season, as Dartford came from behind to earn a replay in the FA Cup First Qualifying Round against Westfield in Woking, Surrey.

This contest wasn’t easy on the eye for the 320 supporters inside the Woking Park Stadium – the pitch was extremely difficult to play on, meaning that any fluid passing game went out of the window for both sides. Ben Greenhalgh’s side started brightly, and only a smart save by Westfield goalkeeper Lewis Gallifent prevented Max Fiddes from putting the visitors in front after eight minutes. The Darts continued to press the Yellows for long periods of the first-half, but were unable to carve out any clear-cut opportunities. And they were made to pay when referee Mr Harry Scott awarded the hosts a free-kick later in the half. James Roberts was the player to take it, and he duly sent a superb 30-yard drive beyond Ryan Sandford to break the deadlock (27)! The goal stunned the visitors, who were unable to respond before the half-time break as passing moves saw the ball bobble every which way except for the way Dartford wanted it to go.

The start of the second forty-five saw Ben Greenhalgh swap Ike Orji with Gianluca Botti (46), as a tweak in formation followed suit in a bid to get back into the game. That change in personnel would be followed by Scott Wagstaff coming on for Jordan Higgs (67), before a double change saw Jeremiah Pinder and Louie Atkins coming on for Tyler Ibe and Max Fiddes respectively (71). Then Dan Smith would go on to make way for Richie Atkins late on (83). Returning to the start of the second-half, Dartford looked more composed and were a constant threat to the hosts as they looked to create the all-important equaliser. Gianluca Botti saw an effort blocked by a Westfield defender (50), before Dan Smith’s neat strike flew narrowly over the top of Lewis Gallifent’s crossbar after receiving a little help from a fortunate deflection (53). Gallifent then saved another Botti effort following excellent work by Brandon Davey on the hour, before Dartford did indeed level the score via the tireless Max Fiddes who took his goal well (62).

The game became a bit stretched during the final ten minutes, as both sides looked for a winning goal. Gallifent pulled off a great save to prevent Richie Atkins’ bullet header from going in (88), as the Darts looked the more likely to score. However as they pushed players forward they were always under threat of a possible counter-attack. And Ryan Sandford made a superb save at the other end a minute later to keep the score level! The resulting corner was then cleared to take this cup tie to a replay at Princes Park on Tuesday night.

WESTFIELD: Lewis Gallifent, George Hedley, Caleb Wright (c), David Barrie Diaz, James Roberts, Kiye Martin, Manolis Gogonas, Harry Bowden, Sam Folarin, Ibrahim Busari, Alfie Huckle.
SUBSTITUTES: Aderi Dede, Andrew Crossley, Jake Baxter, Kamaron English, Jack Knight, Alex Cruikshank.

DARTFORD: Ryan Sandford, Sam Odaudu (c), George Whitefield, Dan Smith, Max Fiddes, Ben Greenhalgh, Adrian Gyamera, Brandon Davey, Jordan Higgs, Tyler Ibe, Ike Orji.
SUBSTITUTES: Gianluca Botti, Scott Wagstaff, Richie Atkins, Jeremiah Pinder, Victor Anjorin, Sonny Smith, Louie Atkins.

Referee: Harry Scott
Assists: Nicholas Elliott, Dylan Ing
Att: 320
Match report: Chris Palmer

Dartford 1 (Dan Smith 90+3 Penalty) Chatham Town 0.

Dan Smith came off the bench to score the only goal, as Dartford secured a late victory in a close encounter on Derby Day.

Credit to Chatham Town this afternoon, as they came to play a football match instead of just mauling their opponents (unlike the previous visitors to Princes Park). However, this wasn’t a pretty experience for the 1,520 supporters due to both sides being evenly matched and struggling for form. The hosts created the first opportunity of the afternoon, after Ike Oriji and Jeremiah Pinder combined to force an early corner (4). The Chats responded with arguably the best effort of the half via Reece Butler, who’s long-range drive was heading straight towards the top corner. That was until goalkeeper Ryan Sandford pulled off a superb save to keep the ball out (8)! George Whitefield came close twenty minutes later, before a Dartford free-kick failed to trouble Chats’ shot-stopper Nathan Harvey (38). The visitors had the better of the half, as they exploited the space offered to them by the Dartford midfield. But despite their efforts, they failed to seriously test Ryan Sandford who was determined to collect a second clean sheet of the campaign.

Dartford started the second forty-five on the front-foot, and had started to plug those holes in the middle of the pitch. And the hosts were unfortunate to not break the deadlock early on, when Sam Odaudu’s lovely free-kick cannoned back off of Harvey’s crossbar (47). But the threat from Chatham Town remained, as Brad Stevenson sent a warning sign with a good effort which forced Sandford into another good save (50). Dartford’s defensive issues took another hit when skipper Ben Swift picked up a knock and was unable to continue. He was replaced with Tyler Ibe (53), as boss Ben Greenhalgh tweeked his outfit’s formation. He would go on to use all his available substitutes this afternoon (including himself), as Dan Smith came on to replace Gianluca Botti (63). Then Brandon Davey came on for Scott Wagstaff (77), before Max Fiddes and Jeremiah Pinder made way for Ben Greenhalgh and Louie Atkins (89). As we return to the action, we find the game becoming stretched with both sides searching for the breakthrough. Despite the Darts looking the more likely, The Chats were still a threat on the counter and only a superb intervention by George Whitefield prevented the visitors from testing Sandford (75). The young defender was then on hand to block Jack Lyons’ effort off the line in the 88th minute. The Darts went on the attack once again in response, and when Louie Atkins was fouled inside the Chatham box, referee Mr Benjamin McDonald awarded a penalty. Dan Smith took on the responsibility, and calmly fired the Darts in front with his second goal of the season (90+2). The visitors tried to reply, but their efforts were in vain as Dartford did enough to seal the win.

Jeremiah Pinder’s efforts earned him the Man of The Match award once again, as the Dartford faithful showed their appreciation for an excellent team display on a nice afternoon in Princes Park.

DARTFORD: Ryan Sandford, Emmanuel Oke, Sam Odaudu, Ben Swift (c), George Whitefield, Gianluca Botti, Scott Wagstaff, Max Fiddes, Jordan Higgs, Ike Oriji, Jeremiah Pinder.
SUBSTITUTES: Dan Smith, Ben Greenhalgh, Brandon Davey, Louie Atkins, Tyler Ibe.

CHATHAM TOWN: Nathan Harvey, Ollie Evans, Jordy Robins, Reece Butler (c), Brad Stevenson, Harry Lodovica, Adam Leathers, Jack Turner, Jack Lyons, Oliver Hobden, Alex Giles.
SUBSTITUTES: Ben Coker, Kian Moynes, Jimmy Wild, Dapo Olugbodi, Will Samways.

Referee: Benjamin McDonald
Assists: Mungo Prior, Mark Barber
Att: 1,520
MoTM: Jeremiah Pinder
Match report: Chris Palmer

Burgess Hill Town 2 (Ben Pope 31', 88') Dartford 1 (Jeremiah Pinder 45+4').

Dartford suffered a second consecutive defeat, after Ben Pope scored late to win a tight contest for the hosts in what was another frustrating match for Ben Greenhalgh’s side. There wasn’t much to separate the two sides during the early exchanges, with the first real opportunity going the way of the Hillians via George Vorster who fired narrowly wide of Ryan Sandford’s upright after fourteen minutes. That was followed by a good response from the visitors, when Dan Smith’s hard work almost paid off only to see a defender block Ben Greenhalgh’s strike (17). Scott Wagstaff and Ike Orji combined well four minutes later, only for the latter see his effort somehow saved by Burgess Hill goalkeeper Roco Rees (21). A Vorster free-kick was excellently saved by Sandford (31), however the Dartford goalkeeper could do nothing about Ben Pope’s audacious long-range drive which dropped into the top corner a minute later to give the Hillians the lead.

Dan Smith was unable to continue after picking up an injury, and was replaced by Max Fiddes with two minutes of the half remaining. And just before the break, up popped Jeremiah Pinder to fire in off the post to draw the visitors level with the last kick of the half (45+3)!

With visibility being a problem due to a clash in both teams’ shirts, Dartford emerged for the second-half wearing their yellow shirt instead of the dark blue one. Perhaps a lot of aggravation could have been avoided had the referee done his job in the first place…! Regardless of that, the game was back underway in what was a tight contest once again but with the Darts seeing more of the ball to begin with. With very little action in front of either goal, Dartford decided to swap Jordan Higgs with Brandon Davey (69). They’d then go on to make a final change in personnel, as Louie Atkins came on for Jeremiah Pinder (90).

As we return to the action, debutante Charlie Lambert (who’d come on for George Vorster on 70 minutes) came close to putting Burgess Hill ahead with a lovely volley (72), before the tide turned in their favour after Emmanuel Oke was shown a second yellow card and his marching orders (74). The hosts, who had also swapped Nick Wheeler with Hamish Morrison at the restart, would go on to also replace Chris Whelpdale with Shamir Fenelon (76), Reggie Ward with Josh Rusoke (86), and Ben Pope with Yoan Edoukou (90+2). With a player advantage, it was the Hillians who looked the more likely to score the next goal as they pressed the Darts back into their own half. And with barely any time left on the clock, Ben Pope smashed home the winner to clinch his brace following good work by Shamir Fenelon (89). The provider almost added gloss to the scoreline a minute later, only to see Ryan Sandford pull off a superb save to tip his strike onto the post (90) to keep the score respectable on a frustrating night for Dartford in West Sussex.

BURGESS HILL TOWN: Roco Rees, Reggie Ward, Joel Daly, Luther Williams, Luca Cocoracchio, George Vorster, Kieran Rowe (c), Ben Pope, Chris Whelpdale, Harry Lawson, Nick Wheeler.
SUBSTITUTES: Hamish Morrison, Josh Rusoke, Shamir Fenelon, Charlie Lambert, Yoan Edoukou.

DARTFORD: Ryan Sandford, Emmanuel Oke, Sam Odaudu, Ben Swift (c), George Whitefield, Scott Wagstaff, Dan Smith, Ben Greenhalgh, Jordan Higgs, Ike Orji, Jeremiah Pinder.
SUBSTITUTES: Gianluca Botti, Max Fiddes, Brandon Davey, Louie Atkins, Tyler Ibe.

Referee: James Kerten
Assists: Nathan George, Unknown
Att: 1,061
Match report: Chris Palmer

Dartford 0 Welling United 3 (Cooper 44', Lambert 50', Shumuton 60')

Dartford’s winning start to the season came to an end, as a fired up Welling United beat their rivals on Derby Day in front of 1,410 supporters at Princes Park.

The visitors were better than their hosts in all areas of the pitch throughout the game, something that Dartford boss Ben Greenhalgh would not be happy about. However, the game was pretty even for the first half an hour, despite The Wings looking the stronger of the two sides overall. Max Fiddes did have the first real attempt on goal, when his fierce strike was superbly saved by MacKenzie Foley (26). The resulting corner eventually found George Whitefield in space and looking odds-on to score, only to see his strike fly over the crossbar (27). Nahum Melvin-Lambert received a yellow card for an awful challenge on Joe Tennent, which resulted in the Dartford defender having to go off to be replaced by Tyler Ibe (41). And from that point on, the tide turned in favour of the visitors. Dan Smith was harshly penalised by referee Mr Ryan Calver when a Wing launched himself over the top of the Dartford striker. The resulting free-kick was sent in towards Nathan Cooper by Sam Smith and, when his header hit the crossbar, the Welling skipper was quickest to react to fire the rebound beyond goalkeeper Ryan Sandford (44).

The Darts were undone once again soon after the restart, when Demaray Anyadike’s cross was met by Nahum Melvin-Lambert at the far post to put the visitors 2-0 ahead (49). Dartford responded by swapping Brandon Davey with Scott Wagstaff (55) but, to be honest it made little difference this afternoon. And when the hosts were caught napping once again, Fumnaya Shomotun punished them with a delightful strike into the bottom corner (59), as Welling threatened to run riot. The hosts responded by making a double substitution, with both Dan Smith and Ben Greenhalgh making way for Gianluca Botti and Louie Atkins (64), before Richie Atkins came on to replace Max Fiddes with twelve minutes left to play. Only the alert defending of George Whitefield prevented the visitors from adding to their tally, as they threatened to at least get shots on target each time they ventured forwards. As for Ben Greenhalgh’s Dartford side, they offered very little, if anything at all in front of goal and were well beaten in all areas across the pitch on what was a frustrating afternoon for the hosts.

Jeremiah Pinder’s efforts earned him the Man of The Match award, but that would be of little consolation to the midfielder. However, Ben Swift and Co will be determined to return to winning ways on Friday.
DARTFORD: Ryan Sandford, Sam Odaudu, Ben Swift (c), Joe Tennent, George Whitefield, Dan Smith, Max Fiddes, Ben Greenhalgh, Brandon Davey, Ike Orji, Jeremiah Pinder.
SUBSTITUTES: Gianluca Botti, Scott Wagstaff, Richie Atkins, Louie Atkins, Tyler Ibe.

WELLING UNITED: MacKenzie Foley, Lekan Majoyegbe, Nathan Cooper (c), Sam Smith, Ryan Kingsford, Nahum Melvin-Lambert, Tyrell Miller-Rodney, Chris Arthur, Fumnaya Shomotun, Demaray Anyadike, Zak O’Keefe.
SUBSTITUTES: Ryan Blackman, John Ufuah, Kaan Bennett, Ade Azeez, Jamie Reynolds.

Referee: Ryan Calver
Assists: Patrick O'Reilly, Thomas Murray.
Att: 1410
MoTM: Jeremiah Pinder

Maldon & Tiptree (Salt and Jam) 1 (Samuel Adeyeye 30') Dartford 2 (Max Fiddes 10', Ben Swift 85').

Skipper Ben Swift popped up to score a late winner to ensure that Dartford’s winning start to the season continued on a beautiful afternoon in Essex.

This game wasn’t easy on the eye for the supporters in attendance, as both sides struggled to gain a firm grip on proceedings. Yet Ben Greenhalgh came close within four minutes, only to see his strike blocked well by a Maldon & Tiptree defender. The visitors edged ahead soon afterwards, when Greenhalgh’s set-piece cross found Max Fiddes alert at the far post to tap home his second goal in three games (11). George Whitefield then sent a header narrowly over the Jammers’ crossbar (13), before Greenhalgh’s free-kick (for a foul on Ben Swift) forced goalkeeper (and captain) Elliot Justham to tip the ball behind with an excellent save (18). Dan Smith came close to doubling Dartford’s lead following good work by Fiddes (22), before a terrific move on the left-flank saw Samuel Adeyeye fire home an excellent equaliser for the hosts on the half-hour. Dan Smith came close again four minutes later, before the hosts fired over Ryan Sandford’s crossbar after another good attacking move (37). Another good piece of play, this time by the lively Kai Redgrave, was stopped in its tracks by a superb interception by Brandon Davey (42), as the Jammers finished the half more positively.

The opening exchanges of the second forty-five was quite a scrappy affair, with neither side carving open any opportunities in front of goal. The Darts that moved first to swap Brandon Davey with Jeremiah Pinder within ten minutes of the restart. That would be followed by three more substitutions for Ben Greenhalgh’s side, as Tyler Ibe and Gianluca Botti came on for Lorenzo Duncan and Max Fiddes respectively (64). That would be followed by Louie Atkins coming on to replace Dan Smith late on (82).

As we return to the action, Lorenzo Duncan forced Elliot Justham into a good save in the 63rd minute, before George Whitefield’s long-range pyledriver flew agonisingly wide of Justham’s upright three minutes later!
The hosts responded with their first real effort of the half following a good move, but the strike failed to trouble goalkeeper Ryan Sandford (71). That was then followed by a powerful Dan Smith strike, which flew narrowly wide of Justham’s goal (81). The Darts looked the stronger of the two sides by this point and, when the referee awarded them a corner, there was only ever going to be one outcome… Greenhalgh’s corner was whipped into the danger area, whereby Ben Swift was on hand to fire in his first for his new club and the winning goal (85). Tyler Ibe, who’d been in excellent form since coming on, saw his goal-bound strike superbly blocked by a Jammer defender (90), as Dartford looked the more likely to score another.

This game might not have been easy on the eye, but Ben Swift and Co got over the line to secure a third straight win to preserve their one hundred percent start to the campaign.

MALDON & TIPTREE: Elliot Justham (c), Scott Simmons, Lenny O’Sullivan, Rhamar Garrett-Douglas, Tom Eastman, Eze Ebuzoeme, Kai Redgrave, Emmanuel Adebiyi, Ibby Akanbi, Iffy Allen, Samuel Adeyeye.
SUBSTITUTES: Elliot Sartorius, Tq Addy, Hedley Ogbebor, Jaden Brissett, Aaron Williams-Bushell.

DARTFORD: Ryan Sandford, Sam Odaudu, Joe Tennent, Ben Swift (c), George Whitefield, Lorenzo Duncan, Scott Wagstaff, Brandon Davey, Ben Greenhalgh, Max Fiddes, Dan Smith.
SUBSTITUTES: Gianluca Botti, Adrian Gyamera, Louie Atkins, Tyler Ibe, Jeremiah Pinder.
Referee: Demetri Anastasiou
Att: 465
Match report: Chris Palmer

Dartford win 3:1, 3 goal by Elliot Bradbrook, conceded one OG.

Dartford kicked off their FA cup run in style with a standout performance from captain Elliot Bradbrook in a 3-1 against Barking at Princes Park. The Darts were in good form, moving top of the National League South following back to back victories when they were drawn against Bostik North new boys Barking. The visitors were also in good form with their own back to back wins and arrived looking to cause an upset.

It was Barking who made the perfect start when a whipped low found Alfie Pavey who couldn’t help but turn the ball into his own net. Barking were looking the more confident side, spreading the play well, but as Dartford settled into the tie they began to see more of the visitor’s penalty area.
Buoyed by their fast start, Barking’s began spreading the passing play but after the initial shock, the Darts slowly grew into the game and begin to fashion some chances of their own.

A through ball on the top freed Andy Pugh who was then brought down by Ollie Bowles rushing off his line for a Dartford penalty.
The skipper stepped up to draw his side level and duly thundered the first of his two penalties in off the underside of the bar.
Barking didn’t roll over however, and on the half hour mark almost got themselves back in front when Jay Knight teed up Alan Taylor on the edge of the box but Bonner threw himself in the way to block. Free-scoring Darts once again showed their clinical side to take the lead when a goalmouth scramble ended with Bowles only managing to turn the ball into the path of Bradbrook, who was on hand to loop a shot for his second. Barking looked to make a similar fast start in the second forty-five but Knight could only direct his header over the bar from Taylor’s cross. Any hope of Barking equalising was extinguished when Dartford were awarded their second penalty of the afternoon for a cynical trip on Ryan Hayes.
Bradbrook made no mistake to complete his hat trick as he stepped up and completely flat-footed Bowles by sending his second penalty high into the top corner.
Barking weren’t quite ready to throw in the towel in search of progression in the competition and twice should have halved the score line. First a counter attack saw Dan Gilchrist put Goldy Capella through on goal before some excellent defending from Keaton Wood denied him. Then Capela had his side’s best chance of the second half when Taylor squared the ball to him on the edge of the six-yard box and Deren Ibrahim somehow tipped his effort over the bar to see the Darts safely through into the next round.

Dartford: Ibrahim, Vint, Wood, Bonner, Sho-Silva, Brown, Hayes, Bradbrook, Pavey, Pugh, Della-Verde
Barking: Bowles, Abiola (Gilchrist 75), Marfo (O’Brien 69), Williis, Adeyemi, Okwera, Ola, Seymour, Knight (Capela 66), Krasniqi, Taylor. Dartford 1 (Dan Smith 4') Brentwood Town 0.

Before KO, Chairman Steve Irving (34 years), Vice Chairman Norman Grimes (34 years), Physio David Phillips (30 years) and Club Secretary Peter Martin (30 years) were all presented with certificates for their long service and work at the club by Isthmian League Director Neil Pilcher.

Ben Greenhalgh made just the one change to his starting eleven following Saturday’s victory at Three Bridges, with George Whitefield coming in to replace injured Emmanuel Oke on a beautiful August evening. It would prove to be an inspired change because the Dartford number six was immense throughout the ninety minutes, as were his defensive partners Ben Swift, Joe Tennent, Sam Odaudu, Adrian Gyamera (substitute Lorenzo Duncan), and Ryan Sandford.

The hosts started brightly and, when Ben Greenhalgh’s early free-kick was put behind for a corner, the threat was clearly evident. It was the Darts’ boss who whipped the corner into the Blues’ box, whereby Dan Smith sent a powerful effort beyond goalkeeper Aiden Prall to break the deadlock in the third minute. Dartford continued to press forward during these early exchanges, but any real opportunity was snuffed out by the Brentwood defence. In fact, only Greenhalgh came close to adding to the scoreline when his header flew over the top of Prall’s crossbar after good work by Sam Odaudu (34). The visitors, meanwhile, controlled a majority of the ball throughout, which would continue into the second-half. Yet the closest they came to a first-half equaliser was when Bradley Sach fired over Ryan Sandford’s crossbar after good work by Luke Read (30). That was soon followed by Charlee Adams’ dangerous ball being calmly gathered by the Dartford shot-stopper (35). Then right before the break, a great Blues attack went unrewarded after Joe Tennent pounced to clear the ball off the line (44)!

The start of the second forty-five saw Lorenzo Duncan come on to replace Adrian Gyamera (46). That would be followed by three more substitutions for the hosts during the half, as Scott Wagstaff and Jordan Higgs both came on for Jeremiah Pinder and Max Fiddes respectively (63). The goalscorer Dan Smith then made way for Gianluca Botti late on (81). The visitors would swap Benas Vaivada and Jesse Olukolu with Freddie Sears and Nat Mardell respectively (63), before Mikey Berry came on for Luke Read late on (80).

As we return to the action at the start of the second-half, Dartford almost doubled their advantage after a long free-kick by Ben Greenhalgh found the head of George Whitefield. However, the defender couldn’t find the target (48). The visitors responded via Jesse Olukolu who aimed a dangerous cross towards Luke Read, but Ryan Sandford was alert to collect the ball at his far post before the Blue could get there (57). Max Hudson sent a free-kick over Dartford’s crossbar following a late challenge by Sam Odaudu (61), before Sandford intervened to prevent Bradley Sach from getting on the end of Andy Freeman’s inviting cross (76). In between those two efforts saw George Whitefield pull off a superb interception to break up a Brentwood Town attack (67), then Joe Tennent made an equally superb challenge to stop the visitors in their tracks (81)!
George Whitefield’s performance earned him a deserved Man of The Match award, on a night when the entire Dartford defence stood tall and dealt with everything that Brentwood Town threw at them. Ryan Sandford’s performance earned him a first clean sheet of the season, as Dartford completed a second win in their opening two fixtures.

DARTFORD: Ryan Sandford, Sam Odaudu, Ben Swift (c), Joe Tennent, George Whitefield, Dan Smith, Max Fiddes, Ben Greenhalgh, Adrian Gyamera, Brandon Davey, Jeremiah Pinder.
SUBSTITUTES: Gianluca Botti, Scott Wagstaff, Jordan Higgs, Lorenzo Duncan, Louie Atkins.

BRENTWOOD TOWN: Aiden Prall, Max Hudson, Matt Cripps (c), Luke Read, Bradley Sach, Benas Vaivada, Andy Freeman, Jesse Olukolu, Charlee Adams, Harry Gibbs, Emmanuel Harvest.
SUBSTITUTES: Freddie Sears, Nat Mardell, Mikey Berry, Tommy Davis, Ben Steward.

Referee: Benjamin Maskery
Assists: Ryan Hetherington, Richard Marus
Att: 1,127
MoTM: George Whitefield
Match report: Chris Palmer

Dulwich Hamlet 0 Dartford 3 (Hayden Bullas 23', Callum Jones 38', 51'). Dartford keep the #1 position in the Isthmian Premier league.

Callum Jones scored a brace, as Dartford put three goals past struggling Dulwich Hamlet to remain top of the Isthmian Premier League table with five games left to play.

With 3,334 supporters enjoying the beautiful weather at Champion Hill, the hosts were quick out of the blocks as they bossed the opening exchanges of this encounter. Having seen Dartford’s Olly Box fire narrowly wide within two minutes of the start, Luke Wanadio forced Jacob Marsden into a good save from his low drive (4).
The former Dart was at it again eight minutes later. Having received the ball from Jerome Binnom-Williams, Wanadio beat Marsden with another low strike, only to see the ball smack back off the upright whereby the Dartford goalkeeper was able to collect it (12). The visitors responded with a fine effort of their own three minutes later, after Samir Carruthers’ quick free-kick released the excellent Callum Jones. However, his strike was deflected behind and the resulting corner was met by the head of George Whitefield, which was superbly tipped behind by Dillon Barnes (15)!
Dartford took a deserved lead after 23 minutes, when a Sam Odaudu pass found Hayden Bullas just outside the Hamlet area, who pulled the trigger on a delightful strike which left Barnes with no chance. One should have been two when Barnes spilt the ball into the path of Jones, who set up Olly Box. However, the youngster saw his effort blocked on the line by an alert Hamlet defender (26). Dartford did get that important second goal twelve minutes later, after Marsden’s long kick was met and kept in by Sam Odaudu. He in turn found Carruthers, who found Jones with a lovely cross to the far post, whereby the Dartford number seven headed home (38).

Callum Jones came close to adding a third soon after the restart, only for Dillon Barnes thwart him following good work by Hayden Bullas (48), before Olly Box fired narrowly wide seconds later. If Dulwich thought they were still in the game at this point, their hopes were dashed two minutes later when Hayden Bullas intercepted the ball high up the pitch, before releasing Jones… and the Dartford striker didn’t miss, as he cooly fired beyond the hapless Barnes to score his second and Dartford’s third of the afternoon (51). Samir Carruthers then came close with an effort, which flew narrowly over Barnes’ crossbar (66), before he left the field to be replaced by Jeremiah Pinder, with Eddie Dsane coming on for Olly Box at the same time (67). Boss Ady Pennock would go on to make just the one further change in personnel late on, with Callum Jones being swapped for Duane Ofori-Acheampong (90). The excellent Hayden Bullas prevented a one-on-one situation for his goalkeeper by making another timely interception (77), before Sam Odaudu used his strength late on to do the same (90), as Jacob Marsden collected his fourteenth clean sheet of the campaign. Meanwhile, Callum Jones’ efforts this afternoon means that he is now the Darts’ top goalscorer, with 14 goals in all competitions. With both Olly Box and Eddie Dsane also in double figures, as well as Samir Carruthers on nine goals, the race for the Dartford golden boot is certainly hotting up!

DULWICH HAMLET: Dillon Barnes, Aaron Williams-Bushell, Michael Chambers, Ben Mason, Luke Wanadio, Ryley Scott, Danny Mills, Mark Marshall, David Bremang, Arj Krasniqi, Jerome Binnom-Williams (c).
SUBSTITUTES: Louis Ramsay, Anthony Jeffrey, George Porter, Sean Bonnett-Johnson, Amaru Kaunda.
DARTFORD: Jacob Marsden, Sam Odaudu, Michael Olarewaju, George Whitefield, Josh Hill (c), Samuel Okoye, Hayden Bullas, Denzelle Olopade, Samir Carruthers, Olly Box, Callum Jones.
SUBSTITUTES: Duane Ofori-Acheampong, Tyler Christian-Law, Eddie Dsane, Joseph Kpaka, Jeremiah Pinder.

Referee: Lawrence Torz-Brown
Assists: Philip Jones, Nigel Owen
Att: 3,334
Match report: Chris Palmer

First match of the 2026/7 Isthmian Premier League, away at Three Bridges FC. Result Three Bridges 2 (Bennet 18', 32' (p)) Dartford 3 (Ben Greenhalgh 45', Joe Tennent 52', Max Fiddes 64'). According to the IPL website, 1 yellow card to Three Bridges - that didn't include the one for Harry White!), 2 yellow cards to Dartford.

Dartford came from two goals down to win, as the Ben Greenhalgh era began with a five-goal thriller at Jubilee Field on a hot August afternoon.

There wasn’t much between the two sides during the opening exchanges but the visitors did look the more likely to score first. The hosts could consider themselves fortunate to not find themselves a player down early on, when goalkeeper Harry White rushed out and took out a Dartford player who was virtually clean through on goal. But referee, Mr Daniel Trout, only issued the shot-stopper with a yellow card! If the visitors were unhappy with that decision, then worse was to happen by the sixteenth minute. When the hosts raced forwards, Emmanuel Oke committed a foul inside the area and Mr Trout pointed to the penalty spot, which Charlie Bennett cooly fired home to break the deadlock. Dartford responded immediately via Ben Greenhalgh, who fired wide of White’s upright (17). The player-manager tried again seven minutes later, but his strike flew narrowly over the crossbar on this occasion (24). However despite their efforts, the visitors soon found themselves further behind when Kevin Riveria was brought down inside the Dartford box. And up stepped Bennett once again to double the Bridges’ lead (32). Yet Dartford kept on pressing forwards, with Greenhalgh looking for any opportunity to test White. And he did indeed do that in the 41st minute, when his corner forced White to make the save to prevent the ball from dropping into his goal. Then on the stroke of half-time, the Darts had pulled a goal back when Greenhalgh received the ball at his feet and fired in his first goal of the season (45). The hosts responded well, to force Ryan Sandford into two superb saves in quick succession during time added on before the break.

The start of the second forty-five saw Dartford pressing and probing for an equaliser, yet it was Sandford who was called into action first to prevent a Three Bridges corner from going in (58). But the Darts kept coming and, when Ben Greenhalgh’s free-kick was met by the head of Joe Tennent, there was only going to be one outcome… an equalising goal (62)! Two minutes later saw the game turned on its head after Dan Smith headed a ball across the box for Max Fiddes to open his account for his new club (64). Before those two goals though, Dartford were forced into making a change in personnel, as George Whitefield came on for Emmanuel Oke on the hour mark. That would be followed by both Jordan Higgs and Louie Atkins coming on to replace Jeremiah Pinder and Max Fiddes respectively (76), before Adrian Gyamera made way for Gianluca Botti (81) and Lorenzo Duncan replaced Dan Smith late on (88). As we return to the action, the hosts were playing a high line as they tried to carve out an opening. Aside from a few half chances, together with a superb interception by George Whitefield (83), Ryan Sandford looked relatively comfortable between the Dartford posts. In fact, it was the visitors that came closest to adding a fourth goal when Dan Smith forced Harry White into a fine save late on (85).

Dartford then did their best to defend their lead during the eight minutes of additional time, as they frustrated their hosts to secure the victory on the opening weekend of the Isthmian Premier League.

THREE BRIDGES: Harry White, Dan Ferreira, Josh Hallard, Ade Adeyinka, Sam Bull, Kevin Riveria, Reece Hallard (c), Hayden Velvick, Billy Irving, Will Dupray, Charlie Bennett.
SUBSTITUTES: Sam Roberts, Carlos Richards, Jamie Watson, Connor Hayden-Pickering, Ben Holden.

DARTFORD: Ryan Sandford, Emmanuel Oke, Sam Odaudu, Ben Swift (c), Joe Tennent, Dan Smith, Max Fiddes, Ben Greenhalgh, Adrian Gyamera, Brandon Davey, Jeremiah Pinder.
SUBSTITUTES: George Whitefield, Gianluca Botti, Jordan Higgs, Lorenzo Duncan, Louie Atkins.

Referee: Daniel Trout
Assists: Daniel Whale, Pablo Aguilar Cabanes
Att: 519
Match report: Chris Palmer

Dartford hosted Ashford United at Princes Park for their final pre-season match with the home side ending worthy 4-0 winners. Dartford 4 (Max Fiddes 51', Dan Smith 55', Jeremiah Pinder 61', Gianluca Botti 80') Ashford United 0

A goalless first half saw Dartford have some brilliant opportunities to take the lead. One excellent chance saw Dan Smith take possession on the left hand side, round the goalkeeper but his strike trickled wide of the post.

The second half saw Dartford have a lot more joy in front of goal. A ball down the left hand side found Jez Pinder whose ball across found Max Fiddes who swept home his second goal of pre-season and his first at Princes Park. The goals did not end there, as a sea of green valiantly tried to defend a Dartford counter attack, but goal scorer Fiddes slotted through Dan Smith who finished calmly into the bottom left corner. The third was certainly the pick of the bunwhere a short Ben Greenhalgh corner found Jez Pinder outside the area. He unleashed a venomous strike into the top right corner, in off the crossbar, to all but seal the win for Dartford. The fourth was a first Dartford goal for Gianluca Botti, who found space on the left hand side to finish after the goalkeeper got a touch on the ball.

Dartford’s second clean sheet in a row concluded pre-season, with Ben Greenhalgh’s men left with two training sessions before they travel to Three Bridges on Saturday as the 26/27 Ithsmian Premier Division season begins.
