Wat Tyler Pub (known as Crown&Anchor until 1966)

Wat Tyler Pub (known as Crown&Anchor until 1966). Grade II listed building. Dartford, Deptford, Colchester and Maidstone have all claimed Wat Tyler as a local hero. In 1381 Wat Tyler reportedly led a group of peasants from Kent towards London for a larger representation from across the land. Tyler became a natural leader and eventually lost his head for his efforts.
