This was the site of the One Bell pub, established by 1507, closed in 1962 and was demolished in 1966 as part of a road-widening scheme. There is no longer a road, its now a pedestrianized area. Sad.

Dartford has been called "one town that changed the world". In November 2000 Dartford Borough Council unveiled a mural which commemorated these achievements, painted by Wallscapes, at One Bell Corner in the town centre. A plaque commemorating PC Colin Stroud was also unveiled in 2014, now obscured by some out of place beach hut for the benefit of smokers of the town?
