A very short weekend in Bristol. Amazing city, only scratched the surface. The most populous city in Southern England after London. People from Bristol are known as Bristolians. Bristol's modern economy is built on the creative media, electronics and aerospace industries, and the city-centre docks have been redeveloped as centres of heritage and culture. Things that stick in my mind are the beautiful honey-coloured stone of the older buildings, the funky street art and the wonderfully artisan shops and eateries. There are a lot of churches in the city, many of them derelict. A leftover from earlier centuries. Clifton Village is amazing - if difficult to park in. Walked the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Spectacular views.
