10 August 2016, The Enclosed Ground, Brighton. Whitehawk win 1:0 from a penalty. Att. 322. Founded in 1945, the Hawks' ground is situated on the chalk downs above East Brighton. The pitch has a significant drop from one corner flag to the other the diagonally the length of the pitch. The north stand is called "The Sea Stand" because you can see the sea from there! the south stand is called "The Din". Their supporters take pride in banging drums and playing trumpets rather tunelessly and making a loud din during the game. This match started badly, the Whitehawk goalkeeper seemed unable to attire himself correctly and the referee sent him back to sort it out. Then one of the goalposts was deemed unsafe and needed immediate remedy before the match could start. Once underway, the match descended into pantomime and then farce, the referee giving 19 free kicks in the first half, issuing a deck of yellow cards - 6 for Whitehawk - and one red card.
