DARTFORD boss Alan Dowson is taking on a marathon challenge to raise money for the Darts’ Supporters Association – and he’s even accepted his former Woking defender Ben Gerring’s challenge to do it dressed as a Teletubby!
Dowson will complete a marathon by walking 140 laps of the Bericote Powerhouse Princes Park stadium pitch to raise £3,000 for the Kent outfit to use in a number of areas at the club.
Bideford centre-back Gerring has taken to Twitter with the promise of a £200 donation if his former Woking gaffer also pulls on Dipsy’s costume from kids tv show Teletubbies.
Dowse was not alone, accompanied around the pitch during the challenge were various supporters association volunteers, youth coaches, women's team players etc. Even the pitch watering system sprang into life during the long day, from 8.00am to 5.30pm.
