Dartford win 1:2 in the Kent Senior Cup Round 1 match on 5 October 2016 at Bromley FC's Hayes Lane stadium. With goalkeeper Deren Ibrahim on international duty at Gibraltar, Bailey Vose, an 18-year old first year pro at Brighton has been recruited into the squad for a couple of games.

Cray Wanderers missed a glorious chance to take a two-goal lead into the interval in the 43rd minute when Morais was guilty for the miss-of-the-season. Keaton Wood’s back-pass was latched onto by Morais, who cut into the box, skipped past keeper Vose and had an open goal to aim at from 12-yards. It appeared certain that he was going to score a debut goal, the goal celebration music was ringing around Hayes Lane as the ball was dinked towards an open goal. Only Morais will know why his shot bounced against the foot of the left-hand post and Dartford got out of jail, much to the amusement of the Dartford supporters who chanted the Blur "Woo Hoo" song when the stadium finger on the button declined to play the music when Dartford scored twice.
Manager Russell said: “Once we went 1-0 up, I thought we controlled the game. I thought it was all us. We had chances before that. “The goalkeeper’s rushing out of his area, he’s pushed it past him, he’s taken a touch walking towards goal. Everyone’s turned round and the music comes on and somehow he’s missed (and hit) the post!

Dartford came from behind to seal the victory, as Andy Pugh (who scored a 90th minute winner at Slough at the weekend) came off the bench at the interval and equalised with his third goal of the season, before a miss-hit shot from big target man Duane Ofori-Acheampong sent Dartford’s hardcore fans home happy.
