22 January 2019. Quarter Final of the Kent Reliance Kent Senior Cup competition. 1:1 draw (Sheringham 22' (Pen), Maidstone 82') and Maidstone win 7-8 on penalty shootout.
Heavy snow shower from before kick off until almost the end of the match made for some tricky conditions. Charlie Sheringham scored for Dartford from a penalty, and Bailey Vose saved a penalty for Maidstone taken by Elliot Romain. Despite efforts on both sides, including a 90' last minute attack by Kudus Oyenuga which hit the goal post, the only other goal came in 82' from Maidstone player Elliot Romain. Dartford goalkeeper Bailey Vose was shown a red card for a botched save which fouled Maidstone player Elliot Romain on 48'. Ben Greenhalgh stepped up to keep goal with Dartford down to 10 men for the remainder of the second half. Even ex-Dart Jamie Philpot on trial with Maidstone couldn't score for them. Ben did a sterling job in defending for Dartford, and both teams looked pretty even, but in the last moments of penalties, goalkeeper Josh Strizovic saved Dan Johnson's penalty kick. So Maidstone progress to the semi final, and the clubs still in include Bromley and Gillingham. Yet to be decided is the Tonbridge Angels v Ebbsfleet to be played on 29 January.
